@mamasubis was initially an idea amongst my friend group in 12th grade to make some “quick college cash”. Loving the domestic act of cooking for my friends, bringing spam musubi to school lunch, and later sharing with my beloved girls was a regular practice. At home spam musubis were a comfort snack, at school, insanely cherished. Bringing the question “Why don’t you sell at lunch”, and from there it clicked. Consulting prices and methods of cooking larger batches was the first thing I discussed with my mom and we made a game plan.

From there, history began. Selling during lunch picked up friends, friends of friends, and from there, my very own mini cult subi following.

@mamasubis quickly became a hit (under the table funny enough) but certainly worth the endless school nights of cooking by the dozens.

What was once the pre-game of @mamasubis vending work flipped while at an end-of-the-year party where I met a boy in a band asking what I wanted to go into at my university. The conversation did what it did, and my business came up. The show was in a backyard and then and there I was informed of the DIY scene. I was offered to vend and of course, I agreed. From there, the birth of LA show subi vending.
